Program:  Justice Roberts will discuss her book “With Grit and By Grace” and her political role as a legislator during the Governor Tom McCall years, a time that coincided with a society in transition involving the civil rights movement, the peace movement, and the women’s movement.

Program:  Justice Roberts will be the speaker at their weekly meeting, to be followed by questions and discussion with attendees.  She will speak about the themes developed in her book “With Grit and By Grace”, such as being prepared for opportunities, and the roles motivation and hard work play in our lives; and compare these qualities with Malcolm Gladwell’s book “Outliers” in which the author sees success as a matter of social dynamics and luck.
